Position Summary The Tax Staff Accountant functions well in a dynamic, growth-oriented professional services environment and will assist the tax team with the preparation of individual and entity tax returns, tax projections, tax research, and client service activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an emerging tax professional to develop technical tax expertise, gain exposure to high-net-worth and closely held business clients, and grow within a collaborative CPA firm environment. Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns with supervision
Assist with tax projections, tax planning, and tax research projects
Develop knowledge of firm processes, tax software, and workflow systems
Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding tax documentation and information requests
Participate in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
Utilize AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity and workflow efficiency
Develop professionally through training, mentorship, and continuing education
Technical Skills
Prepare federal and state tax returns for:
Individuals (1040)
Partnerships (1065)
S Corporations (1120-S)
Corporations (1120)
Trust and Fiduciary Entities
Software Exposure
CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, GoSystem, or similar tax software
Microsoft Excel including:
Formulas

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting - required
CPA or EA designation – preferred
1-3 years of tax preparation experience within a CPA firm preferred
Understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals
Exposure to tax preparation software and Excel
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
